Standardised safety

At a glance

The worldwide product offering gets ever larger so in order to keep some kind of control on quality standards, the International Standards Organisation (ISO) has developed two relatively new standards that concern lifejackets with integral harnesses: DIN EN ISO 12401 for the harness and DIN EN ISO 12402 for the lifejacket.

Not only does the finished item have to comply, but each of its component parts must meet the required standard and be registered: the fabric, coating, webbing harness, buckles and of course the inflation mechanism.

SECUMAR had already met all these standards but it is important to note that you should look for both these standards on your lifejacket to be on the safe side.
